I know I have not been active lately, but I have ben inspired to hold a contest.
I saw this on facebook www.facebook.com/abcnews/posts…; Apparently there is a riddle going around, and people who get it wrong have to change thier fb profile pic into a giraffe. The riddle is as follows:
"3:00 am, the doorbell rings and you wake up. Unexpected visitors, It's your parents and they are there for breakfast. You have strawberry jam, honey, wine, bread and cheese. What is the first thing you open?"
I knew the answer as soon as I read it; the article didn't have the answer in it, but I know I am right. I think it is pretty funny actually, especially since so many people have missed it.
The point is, most riddles out there are way too easy, so here is the contest:
Whoever can find or make up the best, most interesting and baffling riddle(s) wins. (But you have to get the giraffe riddle right also.) I want to see the best riddles that are out there.
Rules:
No NSFW content
No derogatroy terms
No overused riddles like the riddle of the sphynx, or the one about the two birds and the doors to heaven and hell.
It has to make sense
You can enter as many as you like.
Must be watching me to win.
Prizes:
1st place: 111 points, a lama, a sketch, and a feature on my page.
2nd place: 42 points, a llama, and a feature on my page.
3rd place: 12 points, a llama, and a feature on my page.
4th place: 5 points, a llama and a feature on my page.
5th place: a llama, and a feature on my page
2 random entries: 5 points
To enter, message me your answer for the giraffe riddle; I will reply to tell you if you got it right, and then you can comment your riddle here. (If you don't message me the answer for the giraffe riddle first, it doesn't count.)
Good Luck and let's all have fun stumping each other. Feel free to attempt to answer other peoples' riddles in the comments, but please don't spoil the giraffe riddle there, and please don't google the answer; that defeats the purpose.
*Must reach at least 20 entires for points prizes*
Deadline 11/12/13 at 14:15 (may extend to 12/31/13 at 11:11pm if number of participants isn't reached)
Update: extended to 12/31/13 midnight

Un-watching
I may have said this before, but, I followed a lot of people through points donors a long time ago, and, well, my inbox is atrocious.
since it has been over two years, I hope no one will feel offended by this.
I am currently following over 500 users.
I am going to clean up my account by unfollowing those whom I (regrettably) followed only because of point donors. I believe that is at least a third of the people a follow.
I am only unwatching those watched for points and no other reason.
If I have any artistic or personal reason to continue to watch someone I will. This is only to clean out those whom I wat
Random Updates
Hey everyone, I am not dead, lol.
I was prompted to log in today after looking to show some old photos to a friend.
As I believe I mentioned was going to happen in my previous journal, I have been here studying abroad in the UK. I arrived on the last Friday in January.
(An aside about homesickness : I thought it might be strange that I have not been at all homesick, but asking some people I found that this is perfectly normal for one's first time living (truly) on his or her own. Although, I did get a little homesick this past Friday evening, as I had gone sight-seeing, and, on my way back home to my dorm, things felt weird. The trip ma
a note about the october contest
As you probably know, I didn't get many entries or suggestions for that contest, not enough to call out winners, but I will give llamas now to anyone who did participate if I haven't already.
Thank you
edit: nevermind, I already gave the llamas. There were two participants...
News (misfortunes, happy discoveries, new plans)
I have had a lot of things going on this year so far, like getting laid off, relationship issues, family problems, and finding out the surprise/hard way that, while applying to any other type of school or program, you submit your transcripts with your application, but when applying to law school, you have to submit them a couple months in advance, to LSAC (law school admissions counsel), which digests them into a report to send to the schools, charges you for this required inconvenience, and then charges to send each individual report. And you have to use a particular form to request the transcripts to be sent to LSAC (they don't just give y

I found this one here (www.scaryforkids.com/ (I didn't give the full address since the answers are on the page, if you want it you can note me)):
A married couple flew to Florida on holiday. They booked into a nice hotel. During the vacation, the husband was murdered. The police searched the couple's hotel room and found a camera, a plane ticket, and a bottle of sun-tan lotion. The police immediately arrest the wife. How did they know she murdered her husband?
