Tattoo 2

I used the scanner at my parents' house and, small, cheap, low-res model that it is, it makes things grainy. I'm still using the capture though, because despite the grainy appearance, the scanner is better with the colors than any lighting from either my phone or my camera. Update: phone pic version [link]

Parakeets don't come in this color, but I wanted it like that. In the actual tattoo, I wanted the butterfly in a different style I had seen in the shop, with curvy, pointy wings; a more fantasy look.

As you can tell by the date on the paper, I drew this out in July. The parakeet represents all of my babies, ever. And I just have always liked butterflies.
I was just experimenting with the little red, round, shadings in the parakeet's wings; I didn't actually get those in, just the lines.

I based the parakeet off of a pic of IceBlast, one of my babies. I didn't realize until October or November that, being a baby, IceBlast's wing's were clipped, and so is the birdie in this drawing. Since the back of the bird is blue, I can't just get the rest of the wings drawn over that part of the back, becuase the wings are white and the back is blue. you can't cover blue with white. But I'm ok with that.

This is a major improvement from the previous parakeet I had drawn, which was in 2010. I will be uploading that soon also, for comparison. Update: here it is [link]

I tried drawing my parakeets I had when I was little too, and they are much worse than the 2010 one, mostly becuase the lines are so bulky, and I made them so fat, lol.
